Early Childhood Extended Care
Although our main focus is on providing a Montessori education to children, the reality is that many of our families work full time and require some form of before and after school care. We offer extended care that provides just the right combination of free play and stimulating organized activities that build essential life skills for your child to bridge the gap between school and home.
Our before school breakfast club is offered from 07:00 to 08:00, where your child will help prepare and share a healthy and nutritious breakfast with his friends.
After School Activities Academic year 2019 -2020
Our extended care program after school is from 3:15 pm to 5.30 pm.
These after school activities are open to children outside of The Montessori School as long as there is space. Fees must be paid up front and monthly payment option is available. For more information, send us an e-mail to [email protected]
We Art One! by Yrzah
(max. 10 children; ages 2.5 – 6 years)
Thursdays 3.30 – 4.30 pm
We all know that arts and crafts are great ways to engage children, teach them how to follow directions and develop motor skills. But did you know that art expression does that and so much more? Art helps us process the world around us and helps us express ourselves in a creative way, thereby enhancing our ability to focus, improving our self-esteem and problem-solving skills. In our art expressions class, your child will experience that his/her view of the world and feelings are unique and he/she will learn techniques to express them creatively using a variety of media. Younger children will love experimenting with colors and textures, while older children will be guided by our visual artist Yrzah to capture their world view on canvas with paint.
Yrzah Eisden is a local visual artist and mom. Through her project We Art One! she helps children and seniors to express themselves creatively through art.
Classes are in Papiamentu, however the artist is also fluent in Dutch, English and Spanish. Classes start on August 15th, 2019. Fees are f. 25 per class for non-students.
